Automated hospital reporting

Departmental reports flow into the hospital ERP automatically and are surfaced to patients.

01 — The challenge

What needed to change?

Reports produced by individual departments had to be collected and entered into the hospital ERP by hand before patients could receive them. The process was slow, depended on staff availability and created opportunities for error.

02 — What we built

The system, component by component.

  • Departmental report capture

Reports from departments collected automatically as they are finalised.

  • ERP integration

Each report matched to the right patient and visit and recorded in the hospital ERP.

  • Patient access

Completed reports surfaced to patients through the hospital's patient-facing channel.

  • Monitoring

Failed or unmatched reports flagged to staff for review instead of being lost.

03 — How it works

Events, not handoffs.

Each step that used to depend on someone copying information now happens as a result of the step before it.

event log
  1. report.finalised then matched to patient record
  2. report.posted then recorded in hospital ERP
  3. report.ready then shared to the patient portal

04 — Result

Where it stands now.

Departmental reports reach the ERP and patients without manual re-entry, and exceptions are visible to staff.
